Marlene is an Occupational Therapist, working in the field of mental health. Her specific interest is in the dynamics and processes of groups. She is a registered Enneagram practitioner, TRE specialists, Yoga teacher and is trained in Gestalt therapy. Her passion for psychiatric intervention lies in mobilising individuals through the use of activities, creative and alternative mediums to life their best lives despite a mental health diagnoses.

Dr Jerrie Bezuidenhout did his medical training in South Africa (MBChB) and specialised in the UK in Psychiatry (MRCPsych). Dr Jerrie worked in community, countryside and tertiary academic hospitals, in which he provided specialised psychiatric care. His private practice was established in 2004 and he joined the Vista Clinic team in the same year. He has been the director of Vista Clinic’s medical services since 2009. Dr Jerrie has presented on various topics in psychiatry in several forums. Highlights of these include presentation at international congresses and numerous television appearances, including a series on mental illness, which he co-hosted. Audiences have included the community, senior hospital managers, doctors, other professionals and students.

Dr Colin Finucane has been a fulltime pastoral counsellor at Vista Clinic for the past twenty years. He has a bachelor’s degree in theology from Andrews University in the United States of America and he has obtained both his master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of South Africa, in the field of practical theology, pastoral care and counselling. He is an accredited therapist with The South African Association for Pastoral Work. Dr Colin Finucane has been involved in presenting lectures on domestic violence to fourth year nursing students at the University of Johannesburg and has also presented on mental health and spirituality at a number of conferences, both in South Africa and in the United States of America. He is a competent therapist and possesses extensive knowledge on spirituality relating to mood and anxiety disorders. He is involved in both individual counselling and group classes for patients who are admitted to Vista Clinic.

Deon suffers from bipolar disorder, as well as Cerebral Palsy. This has notable influence on his speech, mobility, balance and writing abilities. Deon’s story is an inspirational one indeed.
